After 3 years of chanting, traveling and dancing around the world, we have received a clear message that it is time for The Hanuman Project to create a musical Kirtan album. We are holding the intention to support those diving deeper into this practice, whenever and wherever they are in the world.
Momentum is building and as of this moment we have some really high level musicians, producers and fairies that have agreed to share their time and energy without charge to help realise this goal of making the album! With your help we can bring this dream into reality and take our project to the next level.
What is special about The Hanuman Project?
We are passionate about making this practice powerful, meaningful and accessible - many people who regularly chant with us experience their first ‘Kirtan breakthrough’ with us. This tends to be a part of a bigger transformational shift in their lives.
We are delighted to constantly receive feedback from our community regarding their journey into their true nature, highest potential and finding their true voice.
We do it for the love! This project is one of service and devotion, with the members of this family having given up their lives (with full joy) to bring this vibration to the world and stoke the fires of the hearts of the people. This is a Roots Kirtan Movement!
The past 3 (and a bit!) years have seen me (Paul) on a whirlwind adventure of devotion and transformation. Leaving behind a career in London, I was called to study Yoga and Meditation in Guatemala. Upon arrival at the Ashram, I was quickly directed by my teachers into the path of Bhakti Yoga, and specifically Kirtan.
In a relatively short space of time so much has happened, and so much has changed and yet it all feels so familiar!
As I open myself up to this devotional practice, more and more portals, doorways and transformational pathways have opened up for me. Having found myself now sharing Kirtan music with many peoples around the world, at different festivals, yoga halls and Temples, it feels that now is the time to create a quality studio album. I am excited about creating music which will help people on their journey into living from the heart always!
What is Kirtan?
The call-and-response format of chanting is a type of yoga in itself and has many of the mind-calming benefits of a yoga class or sitting meditation.
For those who find meditation difficult, kirtan, which has varying effects for different people, offers the possibility for the same stillness of mind, without the struggle or striving to concentrate. This practice is one way to focus the mind. By simply repeating mantras or words, you can release your mind from its daily chatter. For some, the practice has a powerful heart-opening effect as well.
What is the money for?
So far this journey has had many twists and turns, and generous co-creators who have opened their hearts and homes to us. And whilst we have received many blessings in regards to support and assistance for those who believe in our message, we cannot rely on goodwill alone in creating a quality recording.
We are generating funds for:
Studio time, musicians , printing and pressing, production, mastering. We are currently on our way from Oregon to California to play at the biggest Kirtan festival ‘Bhakti Fest’, following that we are planning to be based in LA for 3 weeks to record the album.
